Need a Talk?

Orations and Talks

a-preaching-noWelcome to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham Orations/Talks/Lectures page.

The list of Orations/Talks/Lectures has been produced to assist a Lodge or Chapter who may not have a ceremony and may wish to arrange an alternative evening.

The Orations were initially provided by United Grand Lodge of England. An Oration is generally a short presentation intended to stimulate a longer discussion amongst the brethren.

The Talks and Lectures are usually written by their presenter and vary in length and content.

If you wish to arrange an Oration or Talk or Lecture, please initially email: orator@pgldurham.org with the following information:

Lodge name and number.

Masonic Hall.

Date and time of meeting.

Preferred choice of Oration/Talk/Lecture (although this cannot be guaranteed) if you have one, or this can be left to the Orator. You may wish to add a second and third choice of lecturer.

Your contact details including telephone number and email address

The Orator will then forward you the contact details for your choice of Orator or Lecturer. If you are unsuccessful with your booking please make further contact with the Orator. Ideally at all stages the lodge Secretary should make the arrangements on behalf of his lodge.

If you have any questions, please email
